Co-creator of Bane Graham Nolan gives his thoughts on the release of The Dark Knight Rises

Cinewebradio interviewed Graham Nolan (no relation with Director Christopher Nolan), the co-creator of Bane. Nolan collaborated often with Chuck Dixon, co-creator of Bane. Nolan was asked to peak of Bane in popularity after being chosen as the main villain in The Dark Knight Rises, and what he thought about what he's seen so far. Here are some excerpts from the interview (translated from French), courtesy of Comic Book Movies:
Could you tell us about the creation of this character?
Bane was created to be the ultimate villain able to break down the Batman. Had to be smart, powerful and brutal. Chuck and I have discussed many aspects of character before you set the pencil on paper and designed him.
Did you know that Bane had such an impact legacy Batman?
We knew that he would be important in the history of Knightfall, but had no idea that he would reach the popularity today.
2012 will be the year of Bane, Christopher Nolan has decided who would be the new villain in the next movie (The Dark Knight Rises). You can see the first images and trailers … What do you think of Bane's look?
I like what I see so far. I understand the need to change certain things for a movie. The Batman costume from the film is not that of the comic. It is more important to get the right character.
(If you saw the prologue of The Dark Knight Rises) What do you think of Tom Hardy as Bane? (It seems that many people have had trouble understanding him!)
Yes, it's a little difficult, but I'm not going to judge the movie clip with a pre-release. There is a lot of time to optimize the sound clarity and improve if the Director decides that is necessary.
They were called from DC Comics or Christopher Nolan team to work on the character with them?
N.
What do you think of the first two Batman films by Christopher Nolan?
I am one of the few who liked the first one better (Batman Begins).
